Laser marking on plastic surfaces

immagine

We provide CO2 and Fiber Laser engraving machines: there are many plastic and thermoplastic materials that can be marked with laser technology. It should be noted that the marking result depends on the type of polymer, the additives, the type of laser used, and the wavelength employed.

For example, PET requires a specific short wavelength (9.3 μm), which can be achieved with CO2 laser markers. A laser with a different wavelength would overheat the plastic, causing burns and micro-holes.

Laser engraver applications for plastic
Regarding applications, plastic is a versatile and appreciated material in automotive, electronics, cosmetics, medical, and design industries. Plastic materials are often marked with barcodes and batch numbers for unique identification, which are essential in the industrial field for tracking lots and components. Speed of execution, cost reduction, and high-quality performance are some of the advantages of plastic markers.
